Our staff members are proud to live and work in this area, and are committed to providing quality healthcare to our community. _Summary:_ Under the direction of the East Region Diagnostic Imaging Scheduling Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible to perform a wide variety of duties to include kindly greeting patients, scheduling and coordinating patient procedures for Radiology, Cardiology and Pulmonary Rehabilitation according to department protocols while ensuring an environment which promotes a positive patient experience. _Key Areas of Responsibilities_ 1. Communicates with provider, provider office staff, patients, insurance verification and Patient Access to appropriately schedule and/or reschedule department procedures according to specific modality protocols and patient care requirements maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Maintains a working knowledge of all Imaging procedures and preps to appropriately coordinate resources for multiple hospital department and Imaging modalities to ensure quality procedure outcomes. 2. Obtains all relevant patient information, including current lab values and medication usage, and other pertinent medical history necessary to be able to perform certain procedures ensuring patient safety and procure an accurate diagnosis. 3. Responsible for procedural screenings and ensuring patient lab work falls within critical values necessary for all invasive procedures and communicating procedural preparations and educating patients on specific aspects of the procedure that they will be having. 4. Ensures completion and accuracy of provider's orders in relation to requested appointment type and communicates discrepancies to provider's office. 5. Obtains correct and current patient insurance information for access management to procure pre-certification and authorization for appropriating maximum reimbursement. Maintains a working knowledge of medical necessity guidelines and informs provider office of patient responsibility and the need for the patient to sign an Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN) if medical necessity guidelines are not met. 6. Coordinates patient procedure times with several resources, modalities and facilities in conjunction with radiologist presence. 7. Enters information obtained into Epic to assure appropriate and accurate patient information for all modalities. 8. Coordinates, maintains and distributes patient images and reports in Diagnostic Imaging. 9. Demonstrates commitment to service excellence in daily contact with patients, physicians, co-workers and visitors. 10. Performs all other duties as assigned. _Education:_High school diploma or equivalent. Computer skills required. Associates Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced computer skills preferred. _Experience:_ * Two (2) years- experience in a hospital or health care related field. * Greater than two (2) years preferred - experience in a hospital or health care related field, preferably radiology. *Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements:* * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to make independent decisions within his/her area of responsibility. * Good verbal skills in the English language required daily. * Excellent telephone skills required. * Ability to learn use of all equipment necessary to perform job. * Excellent PC skills including data entry required. * Ability to adapt in fast paced, stressful environment. * Working knowledge of medical terminology to include diagnosis/CPT codes. * Accurate grammar, spelling and punctuation skills necessary. * Work is performed in accordance with instruction and procedures, but requires the ability to recognize problem situations and refer them to the appropriate staff member.
