Job Title: Structures Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Structures Technician with a passion for aircraft maintenance and structural repairs. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience working on military fixed-wing, corporate aircraft, or CRJs. While an A&P license is preferred, it is not required. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on detailed rebuilds and structural modifications at our state-of-the-art MRO facility.

Responsibilities

  • Remove and install aircraft components, landing gear doors, access panels, and fairings on aircraft as they relate to structure repair/modification or obstruction of tasks assigned.

  • Document work performed per appropriate manuals.

  • Perform component repairs in accordance with the Repair Station Certificate as required.

  • Fabricate aircraft parts and ground support equipment per engineering drawings and specifications as required.

  • Fabricate and install structural modifications on aircraft.

  • Assist in conducting hidden damage inspections.

  • Apply cleaning solvent and proper sealing compound according to maintenance and structural repair manuals, engineering manuals.

  • Comply with all environmental health and safety policies and procedures.

  • Inspect parts, including warranty inspection for warranty consideration as required by the site.

Essential Skills

  • 2+ years performing structures work.

  • 2+ years experience performing work on military fixed-wing, corporate aircraft, or CRJs.

  • Sheet metal/composite SC tech school or equivalent experience.

  • Ability to repair and fabricate sheet metal.

  • Blueprint reading skills.

  • Basic set of hand tools.

  • Knowledge of reading and interpreting aircraft blueprints, drawings, diagrams, and manuals.

  • Working knowledge of aircraft systems and manuals necessary to perform the job.

  • Knowledge of maintenance manuals, parts catalogs, and applicable FAA documents.

  • Skill in fabrication of sheet metal and/or composite components and assemblies, aircraft parts, and ground support equipment.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair aircraft deficiencies and perform complex structural repairs.

  • Proficiency in operating basic sheet metal support equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working closely with avionics technicians in complicated modifications and upgrades.

  • Willingness to work overtime when available.

Work Environment

Candidates will work in an indoor, clean, corporate business jet repair facility with two hangars. One hangar covers the Challenger, while the other covers Globals and Lears. Professionalism, cleanliness, and safety are critical, as customers are often present with their aircraft. Technicians will work in teams of 8-10 mechanics under one lead, with 10-12 leads reporting to a PM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Windsor Locks, Connecticut.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
