We are currently seeking a talented Software Engineer to contribute to the design, development, and implementation of our cutting-edge software solutions. As a Software Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyse user requirements, design software architectures, and develop efficient and scalable code. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our software products.
This is a hybrid position based in Woking - minimum 2 days a week - Wednesday and either Tuesday or Thursday .
What we will get you doing:
Participate in understanding and elaborating customer needs and requirements within the design and delivery process, breaking down work and providing estimates as needed.
Development and delivery of applications using a web-based front end and a multi-tiered back-end consisting of integrated cloud-based application servers, micro-services and a variety of data sources.
Development and delivery of robust and scalable cloud-based micro-services.
Development of high quality professional software through the application of good practice, including code review, test automation, managing and reducing technical debt, collaboration with testers and other stakeholders.
Proactively developing your skills, learning new technologies and processes and contributing to the team drive for continuous improvement.
Understanding and adhering to the strategy for OSS, security, performance and other similar initiatives.
Here is what success in this role looks like:
Experience in two or more software development languages (e.g. Java, JavaScript, React)
Experience with software development tools and frameworks (e.g., Git, JIRA, Agile methodologies)
Knowledge of cloud systems (e.g. microservices, data lakes, pipelines)
Knowledge of cloud based technologies (e.g. AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Kafka, Snowflake, MongoDB, Oracle, JBoss)
Good understanding and practical knowledge of CI/CD technologies including build and deployment mechanisms.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Familiarity with databases, SQL, and data modelling.
Working within the guidelines and policies of a highly regulated environment.
Staying up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, and proposing innovative solutions to enhance software products
