Do you have a desire to be an integral part of a growing and diverse team? We’re looking for Software Engineer to join our team in Woking, you will work with other engineers and testers sharing responsibility for creating high quality software for use primarily across the pharmaceutical, life-science and healthcare industries.
The Engineering department works in agile, self-organising manner, teams having ownership of discrete areas of functionality within IDBS product suite.
The Software Engineer is responsible for working as part of a team, designing and developing the next generation of our market leading research process and data management software.
We are happy to accept applications for this role from recent graduates who have completed a software engineering internship alongside their degree or Software Engineer’s with some experience in a similar role.

What we’ll get you doing:
Participate in understanding and elaborating customer needs and requirements within the design and delivery process, breaking down work and providing estimates as needed.
Own actions and complete in timely manner, supporting the team's overall software development process.
Develop and maintain high quality professional software through the application of good practice, including code review, test automation, managing and reducing technical debt, collaboration with testers and other stakeholders, fixing and learning from defects.
Leverage your expertise and specialist areas of functionality to identify and solve existing and future potential issues.
Proactively develop your skills, identify areas for improvement and undertake required training activities.
Adhere to the strategy for OSS approach, security, performance & other similar initiatives.
Here is what success in this role looks like:
Passion for writing and maintaining high-quality software
Both front end and back end knowledge (Swinging towards back end 70% of the time)- Server side knowledge is a must
Experience of working in a Linux environment (Basic commands)
An understanding of lean and agile practices
It’s a real bonus if you have, but don’t be put off applying if you don’t:
Jenkins pipeline knowledge or experience
Cloud knowledge or experience (We use AWS)
Comfortable with pair programming and mobbing
Containerisation knowledge (terraform/ Kubernetes)
