Project Title

Major Hazards Installation / Safety Case Development (Process Safety)

Project Objective / Purpose

GF Singapore needs a motivated individual to optimize the Major Hazards Installation (MHI) and Safety Case programs. As one of the largest Semiconductor companies in Singapore, we are looking for an individual who is interested in carrying out safety studies to help protect the environment, safety, health and well-being of our employees and communities. The intern selected for this project will study current processes and have significant input to transforming existing processes in a continuous improvement culture.

Project Description

The intern will assist the APAC Campus Safety team to develop innovative solutions for existing facilities and new legislation implementations. The intern will be expected to participate and carry out safety studies, as required for topics such as HAZOP, LOPA, Alarm Management, Human Factors etc. The intern will assist the operation teams to meet Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) standards established by law or regulations.

Project Outcome

In this project, the intern would have a chance to apply real-life key concepts of process safety and safety case. As well as understand the requirements of workplace safety in a Major Hazard Installation site. The intern will be proficient in understanding established safety codes and industry best practices (e.g. NFPA,API,ANSI etc.) related to Safety and Process Safety matters. In reviewing and improving these processes, the selected candidate will make a meaningful contribution to preventing injuries and significant incidents in the Semiconductor industry.

Required Qualifications

  • Obtaining or completed Degree or Master’s in Chemical Engineering, Safety or Equivalent

  • Fundamental understanding in Process Safety Elements

  • Microsoft Power Platform (BI, Automate)

  • Working experience in Semiconductor Fab sites will be an added advantage

    This internship is only applicable to Students seeking for 6 months credit-bearing internship from Jul to Dec 2024
