Overview:

There is a Manager II vacancy with Yakima County Treasurer's Office. This position is responsible for performing professional level accounting activities that affect the revenue and debt management of County departments and other agencies and /or districts. Duties include: research, evaluation and development of systems; analysis of revenues and expenditures as well as cash and investment management; and oversees accounting staff for financial operations of the Treasurer's Office programs.

Essential Duties:

Oversees professional and trained staff, located in two physical locations. This includes assigning, monitoring, and prioritizing work flow.  Makes effective recommendations on employee selection and evaluation, and monitors day-to-day accounting activities. Ensures continual safeguarding of Yakima County's banking and eCommerce operations. Adapts to the demands of on-going system implementation and industry changes.

 

Monitors system and server activity for multiple individual financial applications as they relate to our daily operations. Communicates with Yakima County Technology Services regarding the system applications. Works directly with external software providers regarding research and resolution of complex problems and issues related to business process automation. Provides training and guidance for employees

Advises financial staff in regards to County-wide fiscal operations and compliance of daily investment activity, daily & monthly cash activity, and debt activity. Calculates and verifies the accuracy of system allocations as they relate to investment, debt, and banking operations. Assists with the training of staff operations as they relate to these areas and provides continual oversight and guidance with troubleshooting issues as they arise.

 

Coordinates, administers, oversees and audits the preparation of a variety of complex reports, statements and documents for major County or agency (Federal, State and local) financial requirements such as:   Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) statements; Annual Comprehensive Financial Reporting (ACFR) notes for cash and investments and statistical reporting; Annual Treasurer's Financial Report; property tax collections and receivables; local improvement district receivables; and special financial projects as required.
