Job Description

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will apply basic to intermediate knowledge of software architecture to perform software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications or operating systems according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and occasionally suggest improvements to the architecture.

Duties and tasks are standard with some variation; displays understanding of roles, processes and procedures. Performs moderately complex problem solving with assistance and guidance in understanding and applying company policies and processes. BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 1-3 year of software engineering or related experience.

Through deep integration with Oracle’s product stack, Enterprise Manager Database Management provides a full-lifecycle solution for managing databases encompassing compliance and configuration management, patching, provisioning, performance management, and automatic tuning.

About You

This opening is for a full stack Senior Software Engineer in the Database Configuration and Compliance Management area in the Enterprise Manager product. You will work with a fast-growing, action-oriented team of software engineers, test automation engineers, product managers and UX designers to build out new functionality and enhancements within the product. As a team, we use Agile methodologies to self organize and deliver value at a rapid pace.

This is a core area in Database Management where new technology is continuously being developed to identify vulnerabilities in the database and remediate them to make them compliant. You will have the opportunity to deal with challenging customer problems that require systems knowledge i.e. spanning across key areas of operating systems, databases, parallel and distributed systems as well as cloud infrastructure. If you are interested in solving challenging problems in system architecture and algorithms, then this the role for you.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 to 3 years’ experience as a Software Developer/Engineer within an Enterprise Product Development team

  • 1 to 3 years’ experience with a high-level programming language (Java preferred)

  • 1 to 3 years’ experience and expertise working with database software or related systems software

  • Must possess excellent debugging skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field

  • Experienced with multiple software development methodologies, with an emphasis and passion for Agile

  • A can-do attitude with a willingness to take on challenging tasks and the ability to multitask effectively across multiple areas of responsibilities

  • Can prioritize tasks effectively to ensure timely delivery of the project
